Digital sovereignty is no longer just an IT trend, but a strategic necessity: Geopolitical tensions, regulatory requirements such as the GDPR, NIS2, and KRITIS, as well as the dominance of non-European cloud providers, make dependencies a real risk. The presentation explains what digital sovereignty actually means—from data, operational, and legal sovereignty to IT baseline protection and compliance certification. Using the example of a sovereign architecture comprising infrastructure, platform, and collaboration technology, it illustrates how companies and public institutions can achieve security, transparency, and investment protection. The goal is to provide a practical basis for decision-making regarding a future-proof, legally sound IT strategy.
